1/3 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 pkg. "any flavor" (except marble) cake mix

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix butter, shortening, egg and vanilla. Thoroughly blend in cake mix 1/2 at a time. Drop by teaspoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet 2 inches apart. Bake 6 to 8 minutes.

Options - Roll in nuts. Add M & M's, chocolate chips, dates, coconut.
