Spicy Date Nut Cake - Recipe

SPICY DATE NUT CAKE

1 c. Crisco
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 c. sugar

2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. cinnamon

1 c. finely snipped or cut dates
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. soured milk

(To make sour milk = 1 tablespoon lemon juice or vinegar in 1 cup of milk).

Mix all up, spread into a greased cookie sheet or a 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees. Cookie sheet - about 18-20 minutes; cake pan about 35 minutes - check on 30 minutes.
