BEST 2-EGG CAKE 
1/2 c. butter
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 1/4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. + 2 tbsp. milk

Cream shortening, then add sugar and vanilla. Add eggs, one at a time. Add flour alternately with milk. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes depending on size and kind of pan used for baking. If using self-rising flour, omit baking powder and salt. Good with chocolate icing.
