BEST QUICK MIX TWO-EGG CAKE 
2 1/4 c. sifted White Lily self-rising
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 eggs

Sift flour and sugar. Add shortening and 1/2 cup milk. Blend together. Beat with electric mixer for 2 minutes or by hand 300 strokes. Add remaining milk, vanilla and eggs. Blend together. Beat an additional 2 minutes. Pour into 2 greased and floured 9-inch layer pans. Bake at 350 degrees about 30 minutes.

Ice with favorite icing, or use for strawberry shortcake.
