MID-WAY CANDIED YAMS 
Whole sweet potatoes (6 to start)
2 c. granulated sugar
1/4 lb. butter
Cinnamon sugar
Vanilla flavoring
Nutmeg

Slice potatoes and boil until done. Drain off water except about 1 cup. Place potatoes in a glass casserole dish in rows. Top the layer with 1/3 of the sugar, butter, and cinnamon sugar. Sprinkle with nutmeg and add a dash of flavoring. Place another layer of potatoes and follow the same procedure.

Do this until all 3 layers are covered with the ingredients. Bake, covered, in oven at 325 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove and let stand 10 minutes before serving. As added decoration, try using miniature marshmallows on top.
