CHESS PIE | |
1/2 c softened butter 1 1/2 c sugar, divided 4 eggs 1 c heavy cream 1 1/2 tbsp. cornstarch or flour 1/4 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 tsp. nutmeg unbaked 9 inch pie shell Cream together butter and one cup sugar until fluffy; beat in egg yolks, cream, cornstarch, cinnamon and nutmeg. Pour in pie shell; bake until brown and knife comes out clean. Beat egg whites until foamy and beat in remaining sugar until mixture stands in stiff peaks. Spread on pie onto edges. Bake in oven until lightly browned. Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes. |
