BAKED FRENCH TOAST | |
6 tbsp. butter 6-8 eggs 1/2 tsp. salt (optional) 1 c. milk 1 loaf thick sliced French/Italian bread Preheat oven to 475. Grease a baking sheet with 2 tablespoons of butter. In a bowl beat together the eggs, salt, and milk. Dip each bread slice into the egg mixture, turning once and making sure bread is saturated. Arrange the bread slices in a single layer on a baing sheet. Melt the remaining butter, and just before baking drizzle it over the slices. Bake for 5 minutes on one side, turn and bake for another 5 minutes or until golden brown. Serve at once with pure maple syrup, honey, or cinnamon sugar. |
