MARINATED MUSHROOMS | |
3/4 c. vegetable oil 1/2 c. Heinz wine vinegar 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. dried basil leaves 1/4 tsp. ground thyme 6 peppercorns 1 split clove garlic 1 bay leaf 1 1/2 lbs. sm. fresh mushrooms In a saucepan, combine everything except for the mushrooms and bring to a boil. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Add mushrooms and simmer, uncovered for another 3 minutes. Pour everything into a bowl. Cover. Chill several hours or overnight, stirring occasionally. Drain and serve as an appetizer or on a relish plate. |
