CORNY DOGS 
1 pkg. frankfurters
2/3 c. cornmeal
1 c. flour
2 tsp. sugar (optional)
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. shortening
3/4 c. milk
1 egg, slightly beaten

Mix dry ingredients, cut in shortening. Combine egg and milk and mix with dry ingredients. Dip franks in batter and deep fry at 365 degrees until brown. if you want them on a stick, insert a wooden skewer in the end before dipping. Serve hot.
