CORN CHOWDER WITH A TWIST 
1/4 lb. salt pork, cut into tiny pieces
1 onion, chopped fine
1 green pepper, cut into thin 1 inch strips
1 whole carrot, sliced thin
2 tbsp. flour
1 can cream style corn
1 tsp. lemon juice
4 c. milk
Salt and pepper, to taste
4 twists lemon peel

Place salt pork into a saucepan and simmer for 10 minutes. Add onion, pepper, and carrots. Saute until slightly tender. Add flour and mix well. Add lemon juice, milk and corn. Cook 10 minutes. Season to taste. Garnish with lemon twists. Serves 4.
