BASIC BUTTER COOKIE CUT OUT 
2 sticks butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour

Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla. Gradually blend in 2 1/2 cups flour. Chill. Roll on lightly floured surface. Cut out in desired shape. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-12 minutes. Frost.
