TOSSED-IN-THE-BOWL SALAD | |
1 clove garlic 1 egg, hard cooked 1/4 tsp. dry mustard 1/4 tsp. coarse black pepper 1 tsp. salt 1/4 c. vinegar 1/2 c. oil 1 onion, thinly sliced Chopped parsley, as desired 1/2 green pepper, sliced into rings 1 1/2 qts. assorted salad greens, broken into bite size pieces Rub salad bowl with cut clove of garlic. Drop hard-cooked egg yolk in salad bowl and mash with wooden spoon. Combine with seasonings. Stir in vinegar and oil. Add chopped egg white. Beat well to thoroughly mix dressing. Add salad greens as desired, chopped parsley, sliced onions, sliced cucumbers, and green pepper rings. Toss lightly, but thoroughly until well mixed with dressing. Serve at once. Strips of ham or turkey may be added. Makes 6 generous servings. |
