ETHEL'S DOUGHNUT RECIPE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 c. sour milk with 1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. sour cream
1 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. nutmeg
Pinch of ginger
3/4 tsp. baking powder
4 c. (approx.) all-purpose flour

Put salt, nutmeg, ginger, baking powder with flour and add to beaten eggs, sugar, milk and cream mixture. Doughnut batter is soft. Let it stand 10 minutes before rolling. Roll to a thickness of 1/2 inch. Cut out and fry in hot shortening (375 degrees).
