CHOCOLATE UPSIDE DOWN CAKE 
PART 1:
1 c. flour
3/4 c. flour
2 tbsp. cocoa
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt

Sift all the above ingredients then add 1/2 cup milk and beat well. Then add 4 tablespoons shortening and 1 teaspoon vanilla and beat until fluffy. Mix in 1/2 cup nutmeats and pour into well greased and floured pan 9 x 9.

PART 2:

Combine 1/2 cups white sugar, 1/2 cups brown sugar and 2 tablespoons cocoa in a separate bowl. Mix well and sprinkle over top of cake batter. Pour 1 cup cold water on top and bake 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Leave in pan until ready to serve. Cut into squares, then lift out with pancake turner, turn each piece upside down, then icing will be on top.
