QUICK ONION BREAD 
3 c. flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
3 tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. water
2 tbsp. butter
3 med. onion, thinly sliced

In mixing bowl or processor. Combine first 5 ingredients. Mix just until blended. In saucepan, melt butter and saute onion slices until transparent. Add to flour mixture and mix again, just until blended in. Pour batter into greased loaf pan and pour beaten egg over it. Bake at 375 degrees for 55-60 minutes until golden.
