1 box yellow cake mix
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter, softened
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 (16 oz.) pkg. butterscotch pieces
3/4 c. dates, chopped

Cream sugar and butter; add eggs and vanilla. Beat, add cake mix and blend well. Stir in butterscotch pieces and dates. Pour into 9 x 13 inch pan and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.
