TOOTSIE ROLLS 
3 tbsp. butter
2 sq. unsweetened chocolate
1/2 c. light Karo syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. powdered milk
3 c. powdered sugar

Melt together butter and chocolate. Add remaining ingredients. Knead until well mixed. Roll into balls or small rolls and wrap in waxed paper or plastic wrap.

Variation: Unsweetened chocolate can be replaced by 6 tablespoons of cocoa and 2 tablespoons of butter; texture will vary slightly.
