Lettuce, curly type Peach halves Banana Marshmallows Maraschino cherries Whole cloves Carrots On a plate, place the lettuce for grass. For the body, use two canned peach halves. Cut part of the rounded end of one peach so it will lay flat on the dish of lettuce. Place the other peach, rounded side up, on the top of the bottom peach to form the body. For the head and neck, peel a banana. Cut 2 inches off one end (eat the rest while you're working!). Fasten it to the front of the peach with toothpicks. For the neck, stick half a toothpick through a small marshmallow, then into the top of the banana. For the red wattle, cut a cherry in half, fasten it under head with half a toothpick. For the eyes, use cloves on either side of the head. To make feathers, use a vegetable peeler to peel a whole carrot. Wash carrot, then peel wide slices. Roll the strips and fasten each one with a toothpick. Stick the carrot curls in the sides and back of peach. |
