CRANBERRY COOKIES 
1 c. granulated sugar
3/4 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/4 c. milk
2 tbsp. orange juice
1 egg
3 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
2 1/2 c. coarsely chopped cranberries
1 c. chopped nuts

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Mix sugars and butter. Stir in milk, orange juice and egg. Stir in remaining ingredients. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto greased cookie sheet. Bake until light brown, 10 to 14 minutes. Cool, spread with glaze.

BROWN SUGAR GLAZE:

Heat 1/3 cup butter over low heat until golden brown; cool slightly. Stir in 2 cups powdered sugar and 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla. Beat in 2-4 tablespoons hot water until smooth and of desired consistency. Makes 5 1/2 dozen cookies.
