6 to 9 lbs. - 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 hours 10 to 13 lbs. - 2 3/4 to 3 hours 14 to 17 lbs. - 3 to 3 1/4 hours 18 to 21 lbs. - 3 1/4 to 3 1/2 hours 22 to 24 lbs. - 3 1/2 to 3 3/4 hours Let stand 1/2 hour before carving. Rub turkey with shortening very thick (any kind). Make sure turkey is dry. Put heavy-duty foil around wings, then wrap turkey in heavy-duty foil. Wrap good so no air comes out. Seal good. Bake at 400 degrees, no peeking. Makes good gravy. |
