SALMON FONDUE | |
1 (1 lb.) can salmon 3 tbsp. onion, chopped 1/8 tsp. pepper 2 tsp. lemon juice 2 tbsp. butter, melted 8 slices day old bread 3 eggs 1 3/4 c. milk 1/4 tsp. salt Drain salmon; save liquid to add later. Remove skin and bones; break into pieces. Add onion, pepper, lemon juice and butter. Trim crusts from bread. Arrange 4 slices in shallow 8-inch square dish. Cover with salmon mixture. Place remaining bread slices on top. Beat eggs; add milk, salt and salmon liquid. Pour over contents in casserole and let stand at least 30 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees, 40 to 50 minutes or until puffed and browned. |
