SHOO FLY PIE | |
2 (8") unbaked pie shells 3 c. flour 1 c. sugar 3/4 c. Crisco (or use 1/2 c. Crisco + 1/4 c. butter) 1 c. light molasses 1 c. water 1 tsp. baking soda Mix flour and sugar together. Cut in shortening until mixture looks like coarse bread crumbs. Pour molasses into a small bowl. Add baking soda. Add water and mix well. Divide molasses mixture evenly between the pie shells. Divide flour mixture in half and sprinkle over the molasses mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. (This makes a wet bottom shoo fly pie.) |
