SHOO FLY PIE 
1 (9 inch) pie crust, unbaked
1 1/4 c. sifted all purpose flour
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. each salt and ground ginger

Mix all above ingredients together, cutting butter into mixture with pastry blender, until it resembles coarse crumbs. Set aside. Then mix:

3/4 c. molasses
3/4 c. water
1 egg, well beaten
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Pour this liquid mix into unbaked pastry, sprinkle crumb mix on top. Bake 40 minutes, or until filling is firm, in preheated 450 degree oven.
