OVEN BAKED FRENCH TOAST | |
4 eggs 1/2 c. sugar 4 c. milk 1/4 c. melted butter (cooled) 2 tsp. vanilla 1/4 tsp. nutmeg Pinch of salt 1 c. raisins or currants 16 slices French bread, cut thick Beat eggs and sugar until creamy. Add milk, butter, vanilla, nutmeg and salt. Beat well. Add raisins. Soak bread in mixture. Butter 3 quart baking dish. Overlap bread - pour extra custard on top. Bake for 40 minutes at 350 degrees. |
