LEMON NUT BREAD 
2 tbsp. shortening
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. nuts
1 c. sugar
1 tbsp. lemon rind
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Blend shortening and sugar. Add eggs, beat well. Stir in lemon rind. Add alternately sifted dry ingredients and milk. Stir in nuts and bake in loaf pan for 1 hour. Let stand 5 minutes in pan to cool. Turn out right side up.

Mix topping and brush on until all absorbed. 3 tbsp. lemon juice

I mix topping first before bread so dissolved while bread bakes.
