OATS AND CORNFLAKE COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. rolled oats
2 c. cornflakes
1 c. coconut, if desired

Cream first 5 ingredients; add flour, soda, baking powder and salt. Mix thoroughly. Add oats, cornflakes and coconut; stir in.

Take a piece the size of a walnut and flatten on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes, until lightly browned.
