SPANISH RAISIN BARS 
3/4 c. unsifted flour
1 c. white sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda (baking)
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. allspice
1 c. raisins
2 c. water
1/2 c. lard
1 unbeaten egg

Combine all dry ingredients and sift together. Heat water and raisins at boiling point for 10 minutes. Add lard to raisins and water until melted. Let this cool and then add the egg. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes or until done. Bake raisin bars in a 13 x 9 inch cake pan.
