APPLE FLAKE 
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tbsp. sugar
1 c. shortening
1 egg, separated
Pinch of salt
2/3 c. milk
Corn flakes
4 c. apples
Cinnamon to taste

Mix flour, sugar and shortening; add egg yolk and salt; add milk. Roll 1/2 of dough to fit in jelly roll pan. Crush two handfuls of corn flakes on crust. Slice apples on crust, sprinkle with cinnamon and a little sugar. Roll remainder of crust. Place on top of apples. Beat egg white and spread on top. Bake at 320 degrees for 1 hour. Brush on a thin powdered sugar glaze.
