DRIED APPLE STACK CAKE 
FILLING:

Dried apples - add sugar and spices to suit your taste and cook until thick. Cool.

CRUST:

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. molasses
1 egg, beaten
1/2 c. buttermilk
3 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream sugar and butter. Add the molasses, beaten egg, vanilla and buttermilk. Sift dry ingredients together and add to sugar mixture. This makes a dough. Divide into small pieces and roll out as for pie crust. Can use 9 inch pie plate or a large skillet. Fill each pie with a little of the apple filling. Add top crust. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes.

Makes about 8 layers. Cool each pie and then stack.
