CUSTARD SAUCE 
1 c. milk
2 egg yolks
2 tbsp. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. vanilla

Scald milk over hot water. Beat egg yolks, sugar and salt, pour milk slowly over them, then return to double boiler and cook, stirring constantly, about five minutes or until custard is thick enough to coat the spoon. Cool and add vanilla.
