2 1/2 pts. cold water 2 1/2 qts. grease or melted fat 1 can lye Pour cold water into glass bowl, carefully empty can of lye, stir to dissolve and water lukewarm (lye heats water). Pour grease into enamel pan. Use wood stick. Stir lye into grease for 15 minutes. If mixture hardens, pour into molds lined with wax paper. To modify, add 2 tablespoons Borax. |
