CALIFORNIA STRAWBERRY CAKE 
1 box white cake mix
1/2 of 10 oz. box frozen strawberries, thawed and drained (reserve juice)
3 tbsp. cake flour
4 eggs
1 1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. water or reserved berry juice
1 pkg. strawberry gelatin
Red food coloring

Combine all ingredients, mix well, pour into 3 pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until done. Frost with strawberry icing (or icing of choice) while cakes are still warm. Yield 12-14 servings.
