MEXICAN STEW 
1 sm. onion, finely chopped
2 tbsp. shortening
1 lb. lean hamburger
1/2 tsp. salt
Dash of pepper
1 c. cooked elbow macaroni
1 can tomato sauce
Dash of cumin
Dash of garlic powder

Saute onion in shortening. Add ground beef; brown; stirring until crumbly. Drain. Add salt, pepper, macaroni, cumin and garlic powder; mix well. Pour tomato sauce over top and cook until heated thoroughly. Serves: 6.
