SWEDISH RYE BREAD 
2 c. water
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tbsp. shortening
1/4 c. molasses
1 tsp. salt
2 c. rye flour
2 c. white flour
1 pkg. dry yeast (dissolved in 1/4 c. lukewarm water)

Mix both flours together, add rest of ingredients, knead and let rise until doubled. Knead well again and shape into 2 loaves. Place in greased pans.

Let rise 1 hour, then bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes. Brush with melted butter while warm after removing from oven.
