HOLIDAY NUT ROLL 
6 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
3/4 c. sugar
2 sticks melted butter
1 c. sour cream
3 eggs
1/2 c. lukewarm milk
2 pkgs. dry yeast, dissolved in the milk

Sift dry ingredients into large bowl. Mix remaining ingredients well and add slowly to flour mixture, while stirring. Add enough extra flour so dough can be handled and gently kneaded until it is not sticky. Return dough to greased bowl and let it rise in a warm place until double in size. Gently press dough down and divide into 6 pieces. Roll each piece to 1/4 inch thickness. Spread with nut filling. Roll, jelly roll fashion; pinch ends. Place seam side down on greased pan. Brush with beaten egg. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes or till golden brown.

FILLING:

1 lb. ground walnuts
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. milk
3 tbsp. applesauce
1/4 tsp. almond extract
