FREEZER SLAW | |
1 med. head cabbage, shredded 1 carrot, grated 1 tbsp. canning salt 1 c. white vinegar 2 c. sugar 1/2 c. water 1 tbsp. celery seed 1 tbsp. mustard seed Mix cabbage, carrot and salt together. Let stand for 1 hour. Drain, then squeeze out excess water. Mix together vinegar, sugar, water, celery seed and mustard seed. Boil one minute. Cool. Pour into cabbage; mix well. Put in plastic containers and freeze. To serve, defrost and drain. Add mayonnaise, hot bacon dressing or serve as is. |
