SPECKLED LEMON BREAD | |
3/4 c. shortening 1 c. sugar 3 eggs 3 oz. pkg. instant lemon pudding 1/2 c. milk 1 1/2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 2 tsp. poppy seeds TOPPING: 1/2 c. sugar 1 lemon Beat shortening, sugar and eggs. Stir in milk and pudding. Add dry ingredients and poppy seeds. Grease and flour 1 loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Remove from pans immediately. Brush top of bread with mixture of 1/2 cup sugar and juice from 1 lemon while bread is still hot. |
