SOUR DOUGH ONION CHEESE BUNS | |
2 c. sour dough batter 1 pkg. dry yeast 1/4 c. lukewarm water 2 c. cottage cheese 2 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. dry onion soup mix 2 eggs, slightly beaten 1/4 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. dry mustard 5 to 6 c. all-purpose flour Measure batter into a large bowl. Dissolve yeast in water. Add to sour dough. Heat cottage cheese until warm. IMPORTANT NOT HOT! Add salt, onion soup mix, eggs, sugar, baking soda and mustard to sour dough mixture. Gradually add enough flour to make a soft dough. Place in a greased bowl turning once. Cover with a cloth and let rise until double. Punch down. Divide into 18 pieces and form into balls. Place about 2 inches apart on a greased cookie sheet. Flatten slightly. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. |
