NUT KIFFELS 
1 yeast cake
1 tbsp. water
1 c. shortening
1/4 lb. butter
1/2 pt. sour cream
4 egg yolks
4 c. sifted enriched flour
4 egg whites
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. melted butter
1 lb. ground walnuts

Dissolve yeast in water and set aside. Blend shortening, butter and sour cream. Add egg yolks, flour and dissolved yeast. Knead mixture thoroughly and refrigerate overnight. Roll dough very thin and cut into 2 inch squares. Beat egg whites until stiff; add sugar, melted butter and nuts. Spread this filling on end of dough squares and roll twice. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.
