GRANDMA'S MOLASSES COOKIES 
2 1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
3/4 c. butter or shortening or butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. light molasses
2 tbsp. sugar

Beat butter until fluffy. Add sugar, molasses and egg. Beat well. Stir dry ingredients into sugar mixture. Shape into small 1" balls, and roll in the 2 tablespoons sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Let stand for 2 minutes before putting on wire rack.
