FRIED CABBAGE 
1/2 head cabbage
2 tbsp. bacon grease
1 tbsp. flour
1 c. water
1 tbsp. vinegar
Salt and pepper to taste

Chop cabbage into small pieces. Wilt slowly in bacon grease over low heat, stirring. Add flour, water, vinegar, salt and pepper; stir and boil for about 10 minutes until cabbage is just done. Serves 4.

This was one of my grandmother's favorite German recipes BUT I never tired of it and she had it often.
