4 c. sugar 1/2 c. pickling salt 1 1/3 tsp. mustard seed 4 c. vinegar 1 1/3 tsp. turmeric 3 onions, sliced thin Cucumbers, sliced thin & unpeeled Mix together sugar, salt, mustard seed, vinegar and turmeric. Use a 5 quart ice cream container. Slice cucumber and onions to container until almost full. Pour cold mixture over cucumbers. Cover and store in refrigerator 5 days before using. Small amounts of cucumbers can be added to juice as some are used. Nice and crisp. Will keep at least a year in refrigerator. |
