REFRIGERATOR PICKLES 
4 c. sugar
4 c. vinegar (5 % acid strength)
1/2 c. pickling salt
1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
1 1/2 tsp. mustard seed
1 1/2 tsp. mixed pickling spices
Sliced onions (optional)
Cucumbers, unpeeled

Slice cucumbers into a 1 gallon wide mouth jar suitable for refrigerator storage. Stir together sugar, vinegar, spices and salt. Pour cold solution over cucumbers. Cover and refrigerate 3 days before using, stirring to mix each day. These will keep well in refrigerator indefinitely.
