LUSCIOUS LEMON BARS 
2 1/4 c. sifted flour
1/2 c. sifted powdered sugar
1 c. butter
4 eggs, beaten
2 c. sugar
2 tsp. grated lemon peel
1/2 c. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. baking powder

Sift together 2 cups flour and all powdered sugar. Cut in butter until mixture clings together. Press mixture into a 13 x 9 inch glass baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes, or until lightly browned. Beat together eggs, granulated sugar, lemon juice and lemon peel. Sift together the remaining 1/4 cup flour and baking powder. Stir into egg mixture. Pour over baked crust. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Sprinkle with additional powdered sugar. Cool. Cut into bars. Makes approximately 36.
