CUCUMBER PICKLES 
7 lbs. cucumbers
3 c. lime
2 gal. cold water
5 lbs. sugar
3 pts. vinegar
1 sm. pkg. pickling spice

Soak washed sliced cucumbers in lime and water mixture for 24 hours. Drain and rinse 4 times. Combine 5 lbs. sugar, 3 pints vinegar, 1 small package pickling spice (in cheese cloth). Put cucumbers in mixture. Let stand overnight. Cook cucumbers in the mixture for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Put in sterilized jars. Seal. Cook without lid on pot.
