HOBO BREAD 
2 c. raisins
1 1/2 c. boiling water
2 tsp. baking soda
1 stick butter
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
4 c. flour

Pour boiling water over raisins and let cool. Stir in sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla. Sift soda and salt with flour and add. Bake in well-greased soup cans (6 or 7), or 1 pound coffee cans (3) filled half full. Bake in 350 degree oven for 45 to 60 minutes. Invert cans on rack and cool. This keeps well wrapped in foil and stored in cool, dry place. To make mini-fruitcakes add 2 cups mixed candied fruit and 1 cup pecans.
