ELOISE'S APPLESAUCE CAKE | |
1/2 c. shortening 1 c. sugar 1 egg 1 1/2 c. applesauce (1 can) 1 c. raisins 2 c. flour 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 tsp. cloves 1/4 tsp. salt 1 c. chopped nuts FROSTING: 2 tbsp. butter 2 tbsp. shortening 1/2 c. brown sugar 2 tbsp. canned milk 1 can coconut 1 c. chopped pecans Cream shortening and sugar; add egg. Mix together remaining dry ingredients and add alternately with applesauce. Stir in nuts and raisins. Bake in a greased and floured 9"x13" pan at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. FROSTING: In saucepan, mix first 4 ingredients. Bring to a boil. Add coconut and pecans. Place under broiler to brown. |
