3 c. sugar
1/2 c. light corn syrup
2/3 c. water
2 egg whites
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. nuts, chopped (if desired)

Boil sugar, corn syrup and water together until a little forms a hard ball when dropped in water. Beat egg whites until stiff; add salt. Pour syrup over egg whites, beating continuously until mixture forms a peak when raised. Drop on wax paper.
