3 c. flour
3 sticks butter
3 c. sugar
6 lg. eggs
8 oz. cream cheese
1 tsp. almond flavor
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. or more rum, optional

Blend softened butter and cream cheese with sugar and flavorings. Mix in 2 eggs and 1 cup flour at a time. Mix will be heavy. Beat with mixer about 3 minutes until no lumps. Put in tube pan. Put in cold oven at 350 degrees. Bake 40 minutes to 1 hour or more. Check with broom straw to see if done after about 40 minutes.

The "optional" rum is highly recommended. Tis a delicious cake. It does take an hour or more to bake even though directions say 40 minutes mimimum.
