1/2 c. oil
1 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1 egg
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar

Blend oil and butter with electric mixer. Add sugar, then egg and vanilla, beat until creamy. Sift flour, etc. Add to creamed mixture. CHILL OVERNIGHT! Form into 1-inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet; flatten with bottom of lightly greased glass dipped in granulated sugar each time for each cookie. Adding more flour will ruin texture so it is very important to CHILL OVERNIGHT.
